Stripped

by Vissarion

The plane is flat and gray and there is nothing there but rocks and ash and there is nothing green to eat.
It goes on forever, without end and only the wolves are not afraid and they accept the plane the way it is.
There are the other creatures, delirious and crazy.
They tell stories to each other of waterfalls and lily pads.
They all know someone who has seen them but none of them have seen them with their own eyes.
The wolves, tall and thin, their coats ragged and gray, walk stoically and without rest.
They go side by side, their teeth glistening and their yellow eyes focused on the horizon.
One almost falls out of step and the others snarl and growl and afterwards they walk in unison again.
They take pride in knowing that they are the toughest and brightest and meanest on the whole godforsaken plane that goes on without purpose and with no end.

V.
The broad-backed hippopotamus
Rests on his belly in the mud;
Although he seems so firm to us
He is merely flesh and blood.

This is a good and interesting poem. Is it about the survival of the fittest?
Is everything 'godforsaken' because 'god' has given up concerning his purposes or because man cannot recognise them - and that is why man has to survive as
the 'fittest' (if that is what the poem is about)?

Vis,

What do the wolves symbolize? (I hope not Christians.)

There is a purpose in life and there is a creator. Just because you can't see God with your physical eyes does not mean that he is non-existent. Just because you fail to ask for Spiritual eye sight does not mean that there is not angels around us to protect us. Just because you can't see...................there are many of us that can see. With faith all things are possible.

V, I sure wish you would join us in the Christian family.

Al

Mind warping. Especially how a place can be godforsaken when the secret component is that there is no god to do the forsaking. Other creatures delirious and crazy tell stories of waterfalls and lilypads. `They all know someone who has seen them but none of them have seen them with their own eyes.` Now that might be an inference to believers...hard to suspect that with this author...chortle chortle. The basis of Christianity comes from a flood of words written by historically known figures that declared that very thing. 1Jo 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 1Jo 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 1Jo 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Wolves walking stoically...defined as impassive; characterized by a calm, austere fortitude. Rather an oxymoron of a wolf like demeanor. Especially when these calm austere wolves have glistening teeth and yellow eyes. Falling out of step is worthy of a snarl to us wolf like Christians I see. But hey...they come to unity at least.

The demon in this guy takes him back to the fall. Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

If you think about it, it's actually impossible for him to become a Christian.

Suppose some Christian lady offered him sex in exchange he become a Christian. Or to send him nudes. And therefore, Vissarion becomes Christian. That is, he "telepathically accepts Jesus" and such.

How can someone consider that be a Christian? After all, Christianity is an intent mentality. And the requirement to being that is "want to" - that is, wanting to believe that. The moment you want to become 1, do you need proof or evidence or anything in addition to that? Of course not.

You can come up with all sorts of ways to "want to" become 1. But we know what that is - the particular thing wanted.

I think a lot of Christians are Christians because they want to. As well as the fact that, there is no benefit to atheism. That is, no reward.

Hi I'm Neal. I have an extremely thick skull. And because of that, I'm not a Muslim or a follower of Islam or adhere to the Qur'an.

Being an atheist is like being in a world where healthy people all walk on crutches. It is tempting to walk up to people and take away their crutches, since I know damn well they can walk fine without them. But then you have to deal with people angrily demanding their crutches back. Being an atheist is a curse.

Being an atheist is like taking a pacifier from a baby's mouth - only that the baby will complain even though the baby does not need the pacifier.
