The Day And Hour
Ask a Bible Teacher ......From www.gracethrufaith.com

Q. Jesus IS God. How could He not know what day or hour His return is? (the rapture) Thank you!

A. In Matt. 24:36 Jesus said the following. "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." The day and hour He spoke of is His 2nd Coming, not the Rapture. We know this because the phrase "that day" refers back to verse 30 when all the nations will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with power and great glory.

By the way, notice that technically He didn't say that no one would know the day or hour, but that no one would know "about" it. The general time of His return will be known to believers on Earth at the time.

In Revelation 1:1 we're told that God had revealed these details to Him. This must have happened sometime between His ascension and His appearance to John on the Isle of Patmos. How could this be?

When Jesus agreed to become a man to save mankind, He had to set aside His Godliness, to step out of the Trinity, so to speak. The whole idea behind the Temptation Wilderness (Matt. 4:1-11) was to get Him to use powers reserved for God alone, thereby violating the conditions of His mission. All His miracles were performed through the power of the Holy Spirit. That's why He told His disciples, and us, that we would do even greater things than He had done. (John 14:12). Since during His time on Earth He confined Himself to doing only those things that can be done by man, He couldn't reveal the details of the day of His return, because those details had not yet been given to man.

Pay close attention to the wording

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. {2} "notice The Word was with God" and the Word was God, {2} My Father and I are 1, remember. just as Adam said he and Eve were one flesh, God the Father, and God the Creator are one Spirit.

2 The same was in the beginning with God. "Gen. Let us make man in our image" "PURAL"

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. {By Him, The Lord, The Word} The one we know as Jesus did the creating, wrote the 10 commandments, and died on the cross.

Hi there,
I will face Rev.1:1 first as that is the easiest. In this verse John was saying what he was about to write came from God, revealing Christ to us. When Jesus spoke in Matt. 24:36. He was speaking as a man. Notice that in verse 4 it says, 'And Jesus answered and said to them', Jesus is the man [doing or saying], and Christ is the anointing [the Power and the Word], Jesus Christ is the man with the anointing, [moving and speaking with the authority of God, not just serving, but obeying in the power of the Holy Ghost]. As for knowing the time of the rapture, Jesus Himself said in John. 5:30. "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me."
Jesus, when on earth had the 'freewill' option at anytime to desert the calling upon Him. This is shown in the prayer on the Mount of Olives in Luke22:42. saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but yours, be done." Once Jesus had fulfilled His ministry here on earth and ascended unto heaven all things were placed at His feet, Psalm. chap 8.
Obviously God the Father, in Matt. 24:36 had not revealed His timing to Jesus.
1 John. 4:8. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. Love is pure and love is a force, it can feel and communicate, but the receiver of this communication needs to be listening. God communicated to the Word His desire and He spoke to the power, (the Holy Spirit) and the Holy Spirit moved and created.
Try to imagine if you will, that you want something to eat, or go out for a while, but don't know what you feel like eating or don't know where to go. The Word will 'eat' or 'go to a certain place', but first, like you needs directions from the main source the 'you' in you. Christ is the Word and will do that which is the will of the Father but needs first to hear what the father,(Love) desires. Perfect Love knows all, we humans are driven by the same emotion, love. But ours is an earthly love. If we turn to the true Love and use our love to love Him, then that is where our direction in life and our supplies for the journey will come from. Just believe.
Hope this helps you in your search.
May God continue to bless you in your walk.
